What's new at Didasko

Welcome to the October edition of Didasko Update. We are pleased to share some of the successes the company is experiencing at this time.

Our learning resources business is enjoying buoyant market conditions and looks set for another busy and successful year in 2007. We are developing a number of innovative new products for the hospitality sector and the number of TAFEs, universities and secondary colleges using our hospitality content is increasing, reflecting the high quality of our content in this area of expertise.

We are also building momentum in our training business as highlighted in our expanding relationship with Australian Pharmaceutical Industries (API) to deliver Retail Community Pharmacy training for 84 Priceline stores around Australia.

We hope you enjoy our article about the 2006 Computer Power graduation ceremony held in Auckland in September.

Our recruitment services team has expanded over recent months with new contracts and key operational and management placements being achieved both locally and into New Zealand.

Finally, in this newsletter we provide the details of our new Sydney premises. We have been able to secure the lease of new corporate facilities in the heart of the North Sydney IT and communications hub. This new location will be used instead of the previously announced Crows Nest site.

Please enjoy this month’s Update!

Didasko delivers community pharmacy training

As part of our expanding relationship with Australian Pharmaceutical Industries (API), Didasko Learning Institute has been engaged to deliver Community Pharmacy Training across all 84 Priceline pharmacy stores around Australia.

Didasko will offer Certificate II and III in Retail Community Pharmacy and in partnership with API will develop and deliver a fully customised learning resource designed to meet the specific needs of Priceline pharmacy stores.

This project is facilitating API’s objectives of delivering a training solution that reflects its retail brand values, organisational culture and philosophies that set it apart from its competitors.

Chris Hynes, Didasko General Manager in NSW says, ‘We are very proud to be associated with API and in particular to be working with such a dedicated group of people who place tremendous value on training and creating learning and development opportunities for their people.’

Didasko has delivered a customised training solution for Priceline stores for over four years now and the move into Pharmacy reinforces the strength of the relationship that Didasko has built over that time.

Computer Power Auckland graduation

Computer Power held its 2006 Auckland Graduation on 29 September. Over 70 students, family members and clients joined the staff in celebrating the evening.

Computer Power was privileged to welcome three guest speakers to its graduation.

Richard Vernall from Careers Services and Jo Lee from IT Job Search talked about the current opportunities in the New Zealand job market, focusing on the skills shortage in IT. Attention was given to the importance of workplace skills, something that Computer Power graduates are provided with as a key part of their course.

The third guest speaker, Gordon Grimsey, from the New Zealand Computer Society, had the honour of handing out the Awards of Excellence and Dux Awards. In addition, the New Zealand Computer Society kindly gave 1-year memberships to all Award winners.

Computer Power was proud to hand out two Dux Awards this year: to Susan Pearson and Daniel Hughes. Susan completed her Diploma of IT (Software Development) 200 hours ahead of schedule and is now working as a Software Tester. Daniel graduated with the Diploma of IT (Network Engineering) and has been in a desktop support role at Auckland College of Education for the past 10 months.

The graduation was extremely well received by all of those that attended and all of the students and staff at Computer Power are now working towards a successful 2007.
