Didasko on Queensland preferred list
Didasko Learning Institute has been placed on the 2006–2009 User Choice Private Provider Preferred Supplier List in Queensland.
User Choice is a program funded by both the Commonwealth and Queensland Governments to enable employees to undertake an apprenticeship or traineeship qualification.
Didasko has been placed on the three year list as a preferred quality private training provider. As a national RTO, Didasko has the resources to deliver the required skills training in Queensland and is anticipating increasing its training delivery services in the state.
A growing training market
The Queensland training market is experiencing significant growth and is struggling to meet current demand as a result of skills shortages due to intense employment growth.
Didasko’s innovative training delivery models and high quality of training staff allow us to provide flexible, quality and timely training that is cost effective. This maximises the training and funding benefits to employers.
These competencies are in high demand as Queensland industry experiences increasing employment growth and skills shortages

Priceline’s retail training
Priceline is one of Australia’s most popular destinations for health, beauty and home. Established in Victoria in 1982, Priceline now has over 200 stores in every state and territory in Australia.
Priceline’s format of mid-priced cosmetics, skincare, haircare, health and home products has gained firm acceptance from the Australian market. This combined with its store concept and pleasant shopping environment has enabled Priceline to become Australia’s fastest growing niched retail chain.
Organisational development
One of Priceline’s key strategies is organisational development: encouraging individual responsibility and interpersonal competence. It also involves equipping employees with the necessary skills and resources to do the job, but equally importantly, providing a working environment that encourages people development.
Since 2002 Didasko has been delivering Retail training to Priceline employees Australia wide, including regional areas. The training involves flexible workplace based training where participants are provided with ‘hands-on’ work experience. Visits take place on-the-job comprising of training and assessment activities.
Didasko also provides management training aimed at all Priceline managers to enable them to gather the tools to build competency in others as well as achieve personal and organisational goals. This program is adapted to company policies and procedures, to ensure all course content is implemented into the workplace. Mode of delivery is in the form of workshops, with an on-the-job assessment to ensure overall competency.
A growing partnership
Didasko has been part of Priceline’s growth story since 2002, having trained over 150 staff during that time. Priceline is committed to providing all staff with an opportunity to be involved in a growing learning environment. Didasko is very much part of this learning environment, with a systematic process of training all eligible Priceline employees.

Not enough suitable candidates to interview?
Using only your normal two or three recruitment methods and channels means you may be limiting your number of suitable candidates to interview for your vacancies.
In this candidate short marketplace, can you afford to limit your recruitment responses?
In recruiting terms, the methods are the broad ways in which you recruit – your job ads, agency, internet, print. The channels are the specific avenues or vendors (like Seek, MyCareer, CareerOne) who distribute to reach your desired demographic profile applicants.
Knowing the best ways and the best channels to reach your desired applicants is the critical decision. This is based on continual market intelligence and experience.
To be updated on the 15–20 recruitment methods / channels that can significantly impact the quantity and quality of your recruitment responses, contact Didasko People Solutions’ Manager Chris Curtis to discuss your customised recruitment sourcing options.

Improving road safety in NSW
Didasko recently won a contract to develop training materials for the NSW Roads and Traffic Authority.
The Roads and Traffic Authority is the NSW State Government agency responsible for improving road safety, testing and licensing drivers and registering and inspecting vehicles. It also manages the road network to achieve consistent travel times.
The RTA manages 17,623 km of State Roads including 3105 km of National Highways. The RTA employs about 6900 staff in more than 180 offices throughout NSW.
Training resources needed
When new laws came into force in the area of restraining loads on vehicles, the NSW RTA needed a new set of training resources for its vehicle inspectors.
RTA trainers required up-to-date training resources for delivering consistent training on Load Restraint and the new laws and penalties.
Resources designed
Didasko developed a set of innovative training resources that included Participant Workbook, Facilitator Guide and training session PowerPoint presentations.
The Participant Workbook and Facilitator Guide was developed in a clear, easy to follow format, with large margins for note-taking. Our graphic designers produced a customised resource that is branded in line with the client’s existing publications.
The PowerPoint presentations were designed to assist the trainers with conveying the information via photos of real load restraint breaches.
The project also involved designing a series of formative and summative assessment tasks. These included group discussion and decision making assignments.
