From the Managing Director

Welcome to the March edition of the Didasko e-newsletter.

In this edition we’re pleased to announce our expansion into New Zealand and IT training, with our acquisition of Computer Power (NZ) Limited.

Since January this year we’ve also been able to offer specialised recruitment services to the services industry. In this issue, we talk about our new, low cost express recruitment service called Recruitment Direct.

We also highlight our upcoming Retail learning resource, with brand new content designed for a range of delivery options, including LMS. This latest product continues our strong business focus on content development.

Last but not least, we also look at an accredited training program we’re working on with one of our region’s largest beverage companies.

More than ever, Didasko is well positioned to provide you, our partners and clients, with Integrated Learning Solutions, offering recruitment services, content development, and training delivery.

The Didasko Team is committed to “Improving life through access to innovative learning” and we welcome your comments or feedback on how we can develop your organisation’s learning and development culture. I hope you enjoy this issue.

Didasko powers up in NZ!

Didasko recently acquired the Information Technology (IT) training company Computer Power (NZ) Limited, as well as the assets of its Australian counterpart Computer Power Group. Despite the financial issues that closed the Australian operation, CPNZ will continue based on its solid profitability and government support.

CPNZ offers a flexible and cost effective approach to gaining experience, government approved qualifications, industry certifications and job placement assistance within the IT field. The company delivers quality education to over 450 students through centres in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, with new initiatives planned that will allow remote delivery to regional areas.

The purchase is an excellent result for both organisations as they are highly complementary. CPNZ will provide an established and respected brand through which Didasko can introduce its innovative learning products into the New Zealand market. It will also bring over 30 years of experience in delivering IT training to thousands of students.

CPNZ will benefit through Didasko’s strong training management background and philosophy of constant reinvestment in people, content and technology. Moreover, Didasko’s history of remote learning will provide an excellent model for CPNZ in moving forward.

Returning from a recent visit of the New Zealand institutes, Didasko Group Managing Director, Andrew Horton, commented, ‘Didasko was fortunate to acquire CPNZ. The company is in good shape and ideally suited to expand and diversify its learning.’

New look retail

Didasko is well underway with the production of the Certificate II in Retail Operations learning resource. This new resource will feature over 1400 screens of information. It will include the 10 core units plus 4 electives, 3 from the general selling stream. The 14 units have been further updated in line with the National Training Package.

This exciting new resource can be purchased as a whole package or as individual units. It features audio, video, interactive challenges and pictures representing a range of retail environments.

Different from our previous vocational resources, this resource is being developed for online web based delivery as well as CD-ROM. This will not only make the content more flexible, it allows you to incorporate it into a learning management system. This makes delivery more flexible, manageable and cost effective to the user.

Units can be purchased on an individual on-demand basis simply by allowing the user access to the content. The online content will be supported by a hard copy Training Delivery Guide for the trainers. This incorporates the resource text, worksheets, worksheet answers and training assessment tools.

Beverage company training

Our client, a large multinational beverage company, recently spent AU$15 million combining their state contact centres into one national contact centre in Sydney. They use this contact centre as a main recruitment vehicle for developing employees. To facilitate this goal they contracted Didasko to provide contact centre training tools.

The challenge

The client required a learning and development solution within a competency based framework. The solution needed to comprise blended training that would be cost effective and provide the best training outcomes.

Our solution

The client selected Didasko for our ability to providing a CBT solution within the national training competencies framework. We worked closely with their HR department over a six month period designing a training program to meet all company requirements. Regular ongoing dialogue between Didasko and the client maintains this partnership.

Results

The national contact centre training manager said, ‘Our training program using Didasko learning resources has improved employee retention rates, skills and productivity.

‘Having seen a variety of e-learning tools I believe Didasko learning resources stand out because they are clear and easy to understand for learners.’

This major training program has been successful as a result of a close partnership between Didasko and the client. Didasko’s learning tools and customised training program has created new value for this company’s contact centre training.
