Our specialist recruitment business Didasko People Solutions has developed a new On-Hire service that provides clients with a pool of qualified, selected cleaning professionals.
DPS is also branching out into recruitment at the executive level and we look forward to outlining further recruitment strategies that deliver results as we establish this business in new market segments.
At Didasko Learning Resources, high quality content is our number one priority and we continue our rapid pace in developing exciting new multimedia learning content for retail and hospitality courses.
Finally in this issue we are pleased to announce the results of recent audits of our Australia and New Zealand training businesses. Regular compliance audits are a feature of all registered training providers and our excellent results reflect our quality commitment to students, clients and stakeholders.
The 2006 year has been a dynamic one for the team at Didasko.
Our expansion into the New Zealand market through our recent acquisitions of Computer Power and The New Zealand School of Travel and Tourism have been clear highlights.
In 2007 we anticipate the news to keep rolling on with further exciting developments soon to be announced.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support throughout the 2006 year and wish you and your families a safe and happy festive season.

New Didasko learning resources
Didasko is pleased to release two new multimedia learning resources, Develop and update food and beverage knowledge and Recommend and fit clothing and accessories.
These new releases reflects Didasko’s ongoing commitment to further enhance both the range and quality of its resources while ensuring 100% compliance with the National Competency Standards for the hospitality and retail industries.
Food and beverage resource
The new multimedia resource ‘Develop and update food and beverage knowledge’ contains images, animations and video to guide learners through the essential elements of the unit.
Didasko has also recently updated the associated Recipe Book to include a comprehensive index for all recipes across its range of cookery resources. Trainers and learners will now have access to one book which covers all levels of cookery. This new feature has come as a result of client consultation and is an example of Didasko’s continuous improvement of its resources.
Retail resource
The new unit ‘Recommend and fit clothing and accessories’ contains images, animations and video to guide learners through the essential elements of this important unit.
Please email Graham Brown for further information about these resources and how Didasko can assist you to meet the needs of your learners and trainers.
Targeted Search – the underutilised sourcing method
If the traditional mainstream recruitment method of Advertised Selection (e.g. placing a job advertisement in the media channels of print or internet) doesn’t deliver suitable candidates, consider the underutilised method of Targeted Search.
If the number of active and passive candidates within the ‘skill set’ has dried up you may need to explore confidential searches within and outside your industry. Look for transferable skills and experience within your vertical and horizontal marketplaces.
Targeted search methods are widely used by Executive Search firms (specifically for senior appointments) and is an effective recruitment method of delivering right matched, proven top candidates.
Over the last couple of years, selective clients are utilising this Targeted Search method for other position levels or for specialised roles.
For more information on how Didasko’s People Search can be an effective targeted search recruitment method for your organisation, please email Chris Curtis or telephone (03) 9573 3900.

Compliance success
At Didasko, we take our responsibilities to sound governance and compliance seriously as part of our commitment to clients, stakeholders and regulatory agencies. To that end we maintain high quality financial reporting of our operational systems and processes.
Recently, our training institutes in Australia and New Zealand have received glowing reports on their latest government audits conducted on all registered training providers.
New Zealand audits
The New Zealand School of Travel and Tourism (NZSTT) recently received a renewal of government funding through the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC), which deemed a number of our qualifications as having “strategic relevance” to New Zealand, as part of an ‘education system that contributes to building and sustaining a prosperous economy’.
Further beneficiaries of the TEC funding are NZSTT students who are eligible for student loans that help pay for tuition fees, course-related costs and living expenses.
Complementing the TEC report, the annual New Zealand Qualifications Authority audit scored NZSTT very highly on all criteria, reflecting well on our high quality and effective student management systems.

Australia audits
In Australia, Didasko Learning Institute is obligated to meet the Australian Quality Training Framework standards as well as the standards in the Apprenticeship Traineeship Training Program set down by the Victorian Office of the Department of Education.
To maintain our compliance Didasko Learning Institute must pass a series of audits conducted by the Department of Education. In November both of these audits were conducted and DLI is pleased to report 100% compliance in all standards.
The auditor stated that he rarely sees such rigorous evidence keeping and deemed DLI’s AQTF system as “best practice”. Didasko is proud of its compliance record and will maintain its continuous improvement practices to ensure future audit outcomes achieve the same standards of excellence.
New website coming soon!
The New Zealand School of Travel and Tourism will soon have a brand new website. The new site will be launched early in 2007 with exciting travel images and innovative features.
