| | Overview
| Hospitality businesses today need to do more than serve great food or provide luxurious accommodation to stay profitable in a highly competitive market. They need to plan for
success.
As a result, most organisations will establish short and long-term goals to further develop
their products, refine the services offered and increase their market share. Operational
frontline managers should be active participants in the planning and implementation of
strategies necessary to achieve these goals.
Operational plans are an important management tool to assist managers at all levels in
identifying and focussing on the steps required to ultimately achieve an organisation’s
stated objectives. However, as it will fall to frontline managers to implement the plan, it is
important to understand why and how the goals were developed, and how tasks outlined
in the plan are to be completed.
In this unit you will learn how to:
| - Define planning needs
- Develop operational plan
- Administer and monitor operational plans
- Conduct ongoing evaluation
