Privacy Policy

The Didasko Group ('Didasko') is committed to ensuring that all of its policies, procedures and practices comply with the Privacy Act 1988.

As outlined in the Office of the Federal Privacy Commissioner Privacy Act 1988 'Guidelines to the National Privacy Principles' September 2001, Didasko monitors its practices against the following guidelines:

  • If it is lawful and practicable to do so, give people the option of interacting anonymously with our organisation
  • Only collect personal information that is necessary for the functions or activities provided by our organisation and relevant to the individual
  • Use fair and lawful ways to collect personal information
  • Collect personal information directly from an individual if it is reasonable and practicable to do so
  • Get consent to collect sensitive information unless specified exemptions apply
  • At the time personal information is collected, or as soon as practicable afterwards, take reasonable steps to make an individual aware of:

     

    - Why we are collecting information about them

    - Who else we might give it to, and

    - Other specified matters.

Take reasonable steps to ensure that the individual is aware of this information even if we have collected it from someone else.

Only use or disclose personal information for the primary purpose of collection.

Take reasonable steps to ensure the personal information collected, used or disclosed is accurate, complete and up to date.

Take reasonable steps to protect the personal information held from misuse and loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

Take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify personal information if it is no longer needed.

Ensure that our privacy documents and management of personal information is clearly expressed to all staff and clients and is made available to anyone who asks for it.

If asked, take reasonable steps to let an individual know what sort of personal information we hold, what purposes we hold it for and how we collect, use and disclose that information.

If asked by an individual, give access to the personal information we hold about them unless particular circumstances apply that allow us to limit the extent to which we give access. These include emergency situation, specified business imperatives and law enforcement or other public interests.

If we refuse to provide you with access or correct the personal information held about you by us, then we will provide reasons for such refusal.

Only adopt, use or disclose a Commonwealth Government identifier if particular circumstances apply that would allow us to do so.

Will not transfer personal information overseas without the prior consent of the individual concerned.

Retention of Information

Didasko does not retain or use any information about visitors to their website. Prior to placing an order for an Annual Report or to submit a comment, the website requires you to input certain information about yourself, including name, company, email address and comments. This information will be retained by Didasko in order to perform its business functions and maintain a business relationship with you.

Use of information

The personal information that Didasko maintains is kept for the following purposes:

  • To send you the product or service that you have acquired
  • To send you correspondence in relation to the product or service you have acquired
  • Internal accounting and administration
  • To protect you and Didasko from fraud
  • To receive feedback on customer satisfaction with products and services
  • To assist Didasko in identifying other products or services that might be beneficial to you, and inform you about them, and
  • To inform you about updates or changes to the product or service you have acquired.

The Didasko website may contain links to other web sites and those third party web sites may collect personal information about you. Didasko is not responsible for the privacy practices of other third party websites. Didasko recommends that you review the privacy policies of third party websites that may be linked to this website

Cookies

Didasko does not use cookies to collect information about access to their website.

Access to client information

You have a right to access the personal information that Didasko stores about you. If you find that the information is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date, Didasko will correct it upon your request.

Management of electronic files

Didasko regularly backs up confidential organisation, staff and client information that is maintained electronically to ensure that records are not lost or destroyed. Access is restricted to those individuals who need access in order to perform their defined employment functions. Where possible, a login is established to minimise the potential misuse, modification and disclosure of information.

Interference with privacy

If an individual believes that someone has interfered with his or her privacy, they should lodge their complaint in the first instance with Didasko. The appropriate Didasko staff member will raise a Corrective Action Record and a grievance/appeals process will apply in order to try and resolve the complaint.

If the complaint cannot be resolved, it may be referred to the Office of the Federal Privacy Commissioner who will investigate the complaint.
