Didasko International Newsletter

In this issue:

I would like to thank all the individuals and organisations for making their time available to meet and work with me during the month of May. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive on both the quality of our resource offering and also on the efficiencies and savings that can be made through their adoption in program delivery.

We look forward to assisting our education partners and affiliates through 2009/10 in adopting Didasko's Learner and Trainer resources and enhancing organisations and students' educational and workplace outcomes.

Didasko Learning Resources - Seamless transition from training to the workplace

International Competency Mapping Underway

Due to the high levels of interest in our resource offering in our international markets, we are currently in the process of developing an action plan for the mapping of Australian competency standards / Didasko Learning Resources units to specified local international competency standards.

Significant work has been undertaken already in the Netherlands in the development of mapping documents from the Kenwerk Qualification File to the equivalent units in the Didasko Learning Resources Hospitality Series. This work has centered on the senior secondary vocational education and training (VET) sector and has focused on the sector/industries of Hospitality and Hospitality/Bakery.

We are reviewing the unit and qualification structure of the Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) in Singapore administered through the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA), a statutory board under the Ministry of Manpower.

In the UK, similarly we will, within the month, be commencing a mapping process for both the hospitality and retail vocational disciplines in line with the National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) and the Vocationally Related Qualifications (VRQs) structure.
